FMR Real Time

FMR Real Time is a functions library that allows one to link Microsoft Excel (or VBA) with DDE servers given by real time providers. The system is completely configurable and it supports several platforms.

How does it run?

The user’s interface is an Excel add-in that groups all the functionalities and capabilities of the Real Time application. By using the security’s ISIN code as a parameter, the application is able to ask the database to find the codes related to the specific RT platform.

What information can I obtain?

FMR RT allows obtaining different real time information about the security: for example bid, ask price or both, close price and so on. These additional features are stored in a secondary database developed using XML technologies.

Linking database

The database associated with FMR RT allows storing simultaneously data related to different providers. At the time of release, the feeds supported are:

• Bloomberg
• Reuters

and the following platforms:

• Bridge
• First
• Invision
• Opentrade
• Reuters
• Tibco
• Triarch

The system may be extended and configured according to users’ requirements.

FMR Real Time is the solution to optimise and speed up work procedures that require real time support. By using the ISIN code, the security is uniquely identified because it is internationally known. But above all, FMR Real Time simplifies the use of real time links. Before the operators had to be able to program and had to insert Visual Basic macros: now with FMR Real Time the users have a flexible and easy to use function.
